NEWSWELL brings national reporting to local readers

NEWSWELL’s support for local news takes many shapes. From business strategy to audience engagement and membership, we assist newsrooms so hometown reporters and editors can cover their communities.

An additional resource that NEWSWELL provides is the ability to tap into outside news organizations to complement our local coverage and expand the news report for our readers.

We offer stories from select publications that augment each of our news sites’ community journalism.

One such outlet is NOTUS — which stands for News of the United States — with whom NEWSWELL has partnered since its inception in 2024. Our collaboration brings government and political reporting from Washington, D.C., to our local communities.

Times Of San Diego

The story selection is carefully curated by NEWSWELL editors to provide news that will resonate with our local audiences — from education and environmental coverage to housing and health care, among other topics. We currently work with more than two dozen partners to offer the most compelling news to our readers.

As our staff grows, we aim to collaborate even more with our partner news organizations on joint reporting projects.

The republication of this external content is a two-way street: All of NEWSWELL’s original reporting is also available for use — for free — by any news outlet. Several stories written by Santa Barbara News-Press staff already have been republished in Southern California. By doing so, we not only assist our own local newsrooms, we boost the broader journalism community and serve more readers.
